Mumbai, June 4 (UNI) Two passengers were killed and 20 others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a private bus and a truck on the National Highway near Kothli village in the Muktainagar area of Maharashtra's Jalgaon district on Wednesday, police said. The injured have been admitted to the local sub-district hospital.

According to police Inspector Nagesh Mohite of Muktainagar police station, the luxury bus operated by Sihori Travels was traveling from Surat to Mehkar in Buldhana district when it collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction on a flyover near Kothli village. The impact was severe, resulting in two fatalities at the scene. The victims' identities are yet to be confirmed, he said.

The police promptly arrived at the accident site and initiated rescue operations. All injured passengers were immediately transported to the hospital. A case has been registered at Muktainagar police station, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
