Signal glitches hit Central Railway Suburban network in Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) Signal malfunctions at two locations on the Central Railway network disrupted suburban train operations on Monday morning, slowing services and inconveniencing passengers.
Railway officials said the Central Railway Control Room received information about the technical snags at 1055 hrs.
The faults were detected on the sections between Thane and Mulund and between Kanjurmarg and Bhandup, affecting both Up and Down fast and slow lines.
Train movements were affected as services had to operate at reduced speeds on the impacted stretches, leading to delays in the suburban network.
Railway maintenance teams were working to rectify the signal problems and normalise train operations, officials said.
The extent of the delay and the time required to fully restore services were not immediately available.
