Southwest Monsoon very likely to advance into south Andaman sea

Pune, May 8 (UNI) The Southwest Monsoon is very likely to advance into south Andaman sea, some parts of southeast Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands around 13th May, 2025.
Day Temperatures were appreciably above normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Assam and Meghalaya; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Konkan and Goa, Kerala and Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
These were markedly below normal (-5.1 or below) at many places over west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat Region; at a few places over east Rajasthan and Madhya Maharashtra; at isolated places over Delhi, east Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan and Vidarbha; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at many places over Punjab, east Madhya Pradesh and Punjab; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh; at isolated places over Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand; at a few places over Bihar; isolated places over Telangana and Rayalaseema
and normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 41.0°C was reported at Sambalpur (Odisha) over the country.
Hailstorm occurred at isolated places over Delhi (Mayur Vihar).
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Gujarat State and at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and Kerala. Mainly dry weather has prevailed in coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
