China offers Pak J-35 stealth aircraft, HQ-19 missile defence system

Beijing/Islamabad, June 7 (UNI) In a further deepening of military ties between China and Pakistan, Beijing has offered Islamabad a batch of its advanced J-35 stealth aircrafts, along with its KJ-500 AWACs, and its HQ-19 missile defence systems.

According to information shared by the federal government on its official X/Twitter account, the Chinese government has proposed supplying 40 J-35 stealth aircraft, KJ-500 airborne early warning and control (AWACS) systems, and the HQ-19 missile defence system, further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations, reports Samaa TV.

Manufactured by China’s Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC), it is the second 5th generation aircraft in China after its Chengdu J-20 aircraft.

The aircraft is equipped with advanced sensors, multi-role capability based avionic features, precision guided missile systems, integrated electronic warfare systems designed specifically to prevent jamming from EMP weapons, and network links with drones and other aircraft, according to Chinese media.

The new Chinese weapons batch is part Islamabad’s efforts to modernise its aircraft and air defence abilities, following the gaping holes and weaknesses witnessed by its military after the success of India’s Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Air Force destroyed several Pakistani aircraft, which included Chinese J-10s, its own JF-17, and even American F-16 aircrafts.

Additionally, China has deferred the repayment of a $3.7 billion loan, easing Pakistan’s external financial pressure amid ongoing economic reforms.

In a new bilateral agreement, over 100,000 Pakistanis will be trained by Chinese experts at Huawei, with the tech-giant training them in cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence and information technology.
