Pakistan launches air strikes on Afghanistan, says 22 militants killed, Kabul reports 9 civilian deaths

Kabul, Oct 1 (UNI) Pakistan has launched fresh airstrikes in Afghanistan, saying it targeted militant camps and hideouts, while the Afghan Taliban government said the attacks killed at least nine civilians, including women and children.
Pakistan's Ministry of Information said Thursday that the strikes targeted "terrorist hideouts" at two locations in Afghanistan based on "credible intelligence." It said initial reports indicated that 22 militants were killed and that weapons and ammunition stored at the sites were destroyed.
Contradicting Pakistan's statement, the Afghan Taliban government spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said the strikes hit three houses in Kunar and Helmand provinces, killing nine people and injuring 11 others.
