Iranian supreme leader Khamenei relocated to underground bunker with his family: Report

Tehran, June 16 (UNI) Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei along with his family have been relocated underground to a bunker in Lavizan, northeast of the capital city of Tehran.

According to Iran International, his son Mojtaba was also said to be with him, though his other sons, Masoud and Mostafa, were not.

The shift followed Iran’s operations, True Phase 1 and True Phase 2, where the Tehran carried out massive missile strikes against Israel.

On Sunday, Israel had targeted the city of Mashhad, located 2,300 km from the Jewish State, for the first time. The attack was reportedly said to be warning to the Iranian leader that he is not safe anywhere in the country, rather than an assassination attempt.

Reportedly, Tel Aviv could have killed Khamenei on the first night of Operation True Phase 1, but chose to let him live, issuing an ultimatum to either end Tehran’s uranium enrichment project, or be killed.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had also given Khamenei and the Islamic Republic a two-month deadline to end Iran’s uranium enrichment program, and finalise a deal. However, the regime refused both Washington’s and Tel Aviv’s repeated warnings to dismantle its nuclear research infrastructure.
