Colombo, Apr 23 (UNI) The Sri Lankan government signed the MoU on Defence Cooperation with India "with responsibility", and needs the consensus of New Delhi to disclose its contents, Cabinet Spokesman Nalinda Jayatissa has said.
Jayatissa told this to reporters when asked about the contents of the MoU signed during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Colombo earlier this month.
The Defence pact was signed amid Indian pressure to stop Chinese research vessels from berthing in Sri Lanka, with New Delhi maintaining they are a threat to the security of the Indian Ocean region, economynext reported.
