Trump to host Xi in Washington amid trade, AI and Taiwan tensions

Washington, Sep 23 (UNI) US President Donald Trump is set to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping to Washington on Wednesday for a high-profile three-day state visit, with trade, artificial intelligence, Taiwan and the broader trajectory of US-China ties expected to top the agenda between the leaders of the world’s two largest economies.
Xi will arrive at Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday, where Trump is expected to personally greet him in a rare planeside welcome. The September 23-25 visit, at Trump’s invitation, will feature a formal White House welcome ceremony on Thursday, including a military flyover and troop review, followed by a state dinner.
The visit is Xi's first state visit to the United States in nearly a decade and his third face-to-face meeting with Trump since the US president returned to office for a second term.
