Nitish government committed to protect interests of minorities : Chaudhary

Patna, July 1 (UNI) Bihar Parliamentary Minister and senior JD(U) leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary today said that Nitish Kumar government was committed to protect the interests of minorities in the state.
Chaudhary told media persons here that there was no question for minorities to get frightened in the wake of new Waqf Board Act as Nitish Kumar government was committed to protect their interests.
One of the great achievements of Nitish Kumar government was to ensure safety and security of minorities, he added.
"Steps taken by Nitish Kumar government has set an example for other states on how to ensure safety and security of minorities there," Minister said adding that inclusive growth was guiding principle of Nitish Kumar government.
Chaudhary while responding to a query of media persons regarding special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, said that Election Commission had unequivocally clarified that purpose of the exercise was to ensure inclusion of genuine voters in electoral rolls and exclusion of those who were not eligible to exercise their franchise.
He appealed to workers of all political parties to co-operate with officials in verification of documents being presented by people during revision of electoral rolls.
Minister said that people should not feel apprehensive over ongoing revision of electoral rolls.
Opposition parties were creating a false impression on the issue of revision of electoral rolls, to mislead people and take electoral mileage, he added.
