North-South Trough now runs from Southeast MP to South Interior Karnataka: Met

Hyderabad, May 5 (UNI) The North-South trough from Marathwada to South Tamil Nadu now runs from Southeast Madhya Pradesh to South Interior Karnataka across Marathwada, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka at 0.9 km above mean sea level, the Meteorological Centre said on Monday.

In a daily weather report here, it said that heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next 72 hours and in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds ranging from 50-60 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next five days and in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Rayalaseema during the next three days.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on May 8 and 9.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places or at one or two places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next seven days.

No large change in maximum temperatures is expected during the next four days, thereafter a slight increase.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and one or two places over Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours.

The highest maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius was recorded at Nandyal in Rayalaseema on Sunday, the report added.
