Bhubaneswar, May 24 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed officials to expedite and complete the development and preservation of the Govardhan Peeth in Puri, associated with the Shankaracharya.
Chairing a meeting, the Chief Minister urged the members of the Shankaracharya Peeth Trust Board to inform the government about the specific developmental needs of the Peeth, which plays a key role in preserving Sanatana Dharma and promoting Advaita Vedanta.
He directed that all developmental activities be carried out in close coordination with the district administration to ensure timely and efficient execution.
Emphasising the importance of security, the Chief Minister instructed the District Collector to enhance safety measures for the revered Jagadguru and prepare a detailed report on the development of the areas surrounding the Math.
Majhi also asked the district administration to beautify the Mahadadhi Sandhya Aarti site, making it more appealing to devotees and tourists.
He assured that all necessary work for the development of the Govardhan Peeth would be carried out with the highest priority.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Works, Excise, and Law Prithviraj Harichandan; Puri MP Dr. Sambit Patra; Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja; Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh; Administrator and Principal Secretary of Shri Mandir Dr. Arvind Padhi; along with other senior officials from the Law and Works departments.
