Odisha: Four workers die of asphyxiation while working in a septic tank

Bhubaneswar, June 3 (UNI) In a tragic incident on Tuesday, four workers died of asphyxia while working in an under-construction septic tank at Padalaguda village in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district.
According to reports, two workers were trapped inside the septic tank after a slab collapsed while they were working. Two more workers then entered the septic tank to rescue the trapped workers.
All four workers fell unconscious inside the tank. Soon, Fire Services personnel and local police rushed to the spot and rescued the trapped workers.
They were taken to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared three of them dead on arrival, while the fourth succumbed during treatment.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the locality.
