Odisha Vigilance unearths huge assets from Assistant Executive Engineer

Bhubaneswar, July 3 (UNI) Odisha Vigilance today unearthed disproportionate assets allegedly acquired by Dileswar Majhi, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Titlagarh R&B Sub-Division under the Kantabanji R&B Division in Bolangir district.
The raids were conducted following allegations that Majhi had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Vigilance sources said simultaneous searches were carried out at six locations across Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bolangir districts. The operation was conducted by a team led by five DSPs, eight Inspectors, two ASIs, and other supporting staff, based on search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir.
During the raids, Vigilance officials discovered a double-storeyed building in Sambalpur, another in Brajrajnagar, and two housing board houses at Lahandabud in Jharsuguda district.
Additionally, nine high-value plots were found in the possession of Majhi and his family. These include one plot each in Sambalpur, Brajrajnagar, and Badmal in Jharsuguda, along with six others located on the outskirts of Sambalpur town.
The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently carrying out measurement, valuation, and assessment of the identified buildings, market complexes, and plots.
The team also recovered Rs.6,57,500 in cash, 300 grams of gold, and bank deposits worth Rs.20 lakh. Other investments and deposits are being verified.
The searches are still underway.
