One group in Congress pushing Siddaramaiah to resign: Yatnal

Vijayapura, June 23 (UNI) Suspended BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Monday alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is facing a coordinated internal conspiracy within the Congress party to mentally pressure him into resigning. Yatnal also took aim at the functioning of the government, alleging corruption and fear-driven governance.
“Siddaramaiah doesn’t listen to Hindus or even members of his own community. He only pays attention to Zameer Ahmad Khan, who constantly whispers in his ears. This raises serious doubts about his leadership and impartiality,” Yatnal said, addressing media persons here.
Drawing comparisons with Siddaramaiah’s earlier term, he said, “He is no longer the same leader. Today, he is surrounded by a group that is weakening him politically and morally.”
Yatnal alleged that several ministers are functioning under pressure and fear. “Ministers are afraid of being dropped from the cabinet. That fear is driving them to do whatever it takes—including directly accepting bribes to get work done,” he claimed.
Criticising the Congress for its previous corruption allegations against the BJP, Yatnal said, “You kept shouting ‘40 percent commission’ during our time. Now that you’re in power, what action have you taken? Even in the PSI scam, you said 40 percent went to the CM. Where is the proof?”
He said the Congress is plagued by internal divisions. “There’s one group working to remove Siddaramaiah, and another trying to save him. These two gangs are fighting amongst themselves, and in the process, Karnataka’s development has come to a standstill.”
Yatnal further added that the constant friction is part of a deliberate strategy to mentally destabilise the Chief Minister. “They are pushing Siddaramaiah into a psychological corner, hoping he’ll give up and resign. That’s the unfortunate truth inside the Congress party today.”
Yatnal’s statement comes at a time of visible unease within the Congress government, marked by rebellion, accusations of corruption, and infighting that could threaten its stability in Karnataka.
