New Delhi, June 24 (UNI) Amid the Middle East conflict, Operation Sindhu saw more Indians evacuated from Iran and Israel arriving in New Delhi, along with some Sri Lankan and Nepalese nationals. So far, 2,576 Indians have been evacuated from Iran, while 594 Indians have been brought back from Israel.
The MEA spokesperson gave information in posts on X:
On the latest evacuation from Iran, he posted that Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita received the latest batch of 281 Indians, three Sri Lankan nationals and two Nepalese, evacuated from Iran, in New Delhi. They arrived on board a flight from Mashhad on Tuesday afternoon.

“MoS @PmargheritaBJP warmly received 281 Indian, 3 Sri Lankan & 2 Nepalese nationals evacuated from Iran. They arrived in New Delhi on a special flight from Mashhad at 1500 hrs on 24 June.

On the Israel leg of the operation, he posted that 268 Indians who were brought on board an IAF C-17 flight from Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt, arrived in New Delhi, and were received by Minister of State Dr L Murugan.

“268 Indian nationals who returned in the third flight from Israel were received by MoS Dr. L Murugan. The IAF C-17 flight from Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt landed in Delhi at 1100 hrs on 24th June.
“594 Indians have returned so far from Israel as part of #OperationSindhu."
Earlier, an IAF C-17 flight evacuated 165 Indian nationals from Israel.
They were received by MoS Dr. L. Murugan upon arrival in Delhi, on a flight from Amman.
The Israel leg of Operation Sindhu began on June 23, bringing home the first group of 161 Indian nationals from Israel. They arrived in New Delhi early in the morning from Amman, Jordan. The Indians were received by MoS Margherita.
“The safety and security of Indian nationals abroad remains the highest priority for the Government,” the MEA spokesperson said.
