Over 12.48 lakh cases settled in Telangana National Lok Adalat

Hyderabad, June 14 (UNI) The National Lok Adalat was successfully conducted across Telangana on Saturday, settling over 12.48 lakh cases, including 4.63 lakh pre-litigation and 7.85 lakh pending court cases.
The initiative was held under the guidance of the Acting Chief Justice of Telangana High Court, Justice Sujoy Paul, and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili.
Justice Sujoy Paul highlighted the benefits of the Lok Adalat system in promoting amicable settlements and preserving relationships. He also emphasised the growing success of community mediation programs launched in districts like Nizamabad and Kamareddy, which are proving effective in resolving matrimonial and family disputes at the grassroots level.
A landmark settlement was recorded in Kamareddy, where a high-value motor accident claim was resolved with Rs 1.4 crore awarded to the family of a deceased police constable, marking a significant achievement for the District Legal Services Authority.
Across the state, a total compensation amount of Rs 935 crore was awarded to beneficiaries in settled cases during the day-long event.
