Panchkula administration sets up control room as power employees launch 3-day strike

Panchkula, Oct 22 (UNI) With power employees across Haryana set to strike from October 22 to 24, the Panchkula district administration has activated a control room at the Deputy Commissioner’s Camp Office in Sector 1 to monitor the situation, coordinate emergency responses and address any disruption to essential electricity services.
The District Control Room has been established in view of the strike call given by the Haryana Bijli Karamchari and Engineers Sanyukt Sangharsh Morcha of Haryana’s power utilities. It will remain operational until October 24 or until normalcy is restored, whichever is later.
The administration has tasked the control room with receiving and relaying information on law-and-order incidents, interruptions in essential power services, threats to critical power installations and other developments requiring immediate administrative intervention.
To ensure a coordinated response, the control room will remain in close contact with Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Duty Magistrates, police authorities, tehsildars, Block Development and Panchayat Officers, power utilities and other concerned departments. Any incident requiring field-level action will be promptly referred to the competent authority.
All officers and officials concerned have been directed to report significant developments without delay, with the focus on maintaining law and order, safeguarding critical power infrastructure and ensuring the delivery of essential electricity services during the strike.
The administration has asked officials to maintain prompt communication with the control room so that any emerging situation can be brought to the notice of the appropriate authority for timely action.
