Mumbai, June 9 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the train accident in Mumbai on Monday in which five passengers fell off a train and died.
Pawar expressed his deep distress at the tragic death of commuters who fell from the local train.
He said, “The deaths in the suburban train travelling from Kasara to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on the Central Railway route are unfortunate and deeply distressing. The deaths highlight the need to pay serious attention to overcrowding and passenger safety in the suburban railway system. I am confident that the railway administration will soon take concrete steps to make suburban train services safer."
He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured passengers and expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased.
“I join in the grief of the bereaved families and offer heartfelt condolences to the departed souls,” Pawar said, expressing his sorrow over the accident that took place between Kopar and Diva stations on the Central Railway.
