People in Maharashtra can now get e-stamp certificates sitting at home: Minister

Mumbai, Mar 24 (UNI) The Maharashtra government on Monday announced radical changes in the stamp duty and registration process, offering the citizens the facility of getting e-stamp certificate online at home.
In this regard the Maharashtra Legislative Council during the day approved the Stamp Amendment Bill, which was presented by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
Speaking about the Bill, Revenue Minister Bawankule said in the old process that had been going on since 2004, citizens had to go to the vendor for stamp paper. They had to go to separate centres for franking and even after filling the e-challan during the registration process, it had to be printed and submitted to the office. The government has now put an end to all these matters, he said.

Effective surveillance through CCTV systems being carried out at all railway stations in Mumbai
