Bhopal, May 31 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday arrived in Madhya Pradesh's capital to address the Women Empowerment Maha Sammelan on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar.
He is also scheduled to deliver a strong message against terrorism, with specific reference to Operation Sindoor.
During the event, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several development projects.
According to official sources, Modi arrived at Raja Bhoj Airport here on Saturday by a special plane. He boarded a special Air Force helicopter a few minutes later from the airport and left for the event venue, Jamburi Maidan.
After addressing the Women Empowerment Maha Sammelan at Jamburi Maidan, he is due to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development schemes.
Meanwhile, official sources said Modi was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at Raja Bhoj Airport here.
Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, Sports and Cooperation Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang, MP Faggan Singh Kulaste, MLA Gopal Bhargav, MLA Bhupendra Singh, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Director General of Police Kailash Makwana and other officials were present at the welcome.
Before his Bhopal visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Madhya Pradesh is progressing rapidly on the mantra of "heritage as well as development".
In an X-post, Modi said, "Madhya Pradesh is progressing rapidly on the mantra of 'heritage as well as development'. Today I will get the opportunity to be a part of a programme related to the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar in Bhopal. I will also get the opportunity to inaugurate many projects there."
