Prof Jayant Narlikar's great contribution was in explaining science in an easy way: Minister Shelar

Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) Padma Bhushan Prof. Jayant Narlikar made a great contribution in explaining science in an easy way, said Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar and praised the late astrophysicist and science communicator for instilling the love of science in children in the true sense.
A condolence meeting was organised for the great Indian scientist, Padma Bhushan Prof. Jayant Narlikar, by the Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission of the Government of Maharashtra at the office of the Commission.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary of the state, Sujata Saunik, Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Advisor to the Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission, Dr. A.V. Sapre, Director of Nehru Planetarium, Arvind Paranjpe, Principal Aniruddha Pandit, along with members of the Commission and expert professors in the field of science and technology.
Prof. Narlikar brought special recognition to India at the global level in the field of astronomy and theoretical physics. The specialty of his work is the dissemination of science to the common man. He did not limit science only to the laboratory, but worked to connect it with the new generation through books in his simple style. The work of Padma Bhushan Prof. Jayant Narlikar will always inspire us, added Adv. Shelar.
