Rajnath Singh to mark delivery of HAL’s 2,000th aero-engine at Koraput

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate a milestone event at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s (HAL) Koraput Division in Odisha on Tuesday, marking the delivery of the 2,000th aero-engine manufactured by the facility.
The landmark event on October 6 will underscore HAL Koraput’s nearly six-decade contribution to India’s aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem and its role in strengthening the operational readiness of the Armed Forces.
The event will also witness the highlighting of a second production line for Shakti engines, established at an investment of Rs 218 crore. The additional production capacity is aimed at meeting the growing requirements of indigenous helicopter platforms, including the Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and Prachand Light Combat Helicopter (LCH).
