RJD chief Lalu Prasad expels elder son Tej Pratap from party and family for 'irresponsible behaviour'

RJD chief Lalu Prasad expels elder son Tej Pratap from party and family for 'irresponsible behaviour'

Patna, May 25 (UNI) Rashtriya Janata Dal Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav today expelled his eldest son Tej Pratap Yadav, MLA, from the party for six years, and from his family.

In a social media post, Lalu Prasad Yadav, said that the decision for expulsion of Tej Pratap Yadav from the RJD as well as from the family was taken following his "most irresponsible act".

Yadav said that the activities, public conduct and irresponsible behavior of his eldest son were not in accordance with his family values and traditions.

Ignoring moral values in personal life weakens collective struggle for social justice, Yadav wrote, stating that under such circumstances, he removed Tej Pratap from the party and family.

"From now on, Tej Pratap Yadav will not have any role of any kind in the party and family and he is expelled from the party for six years," Yadav added.

The RJD chief further said that his eldest son Tej Pratap Yadav was capable of seeing the good and bad and merits and demerits of his personal life, and those who will have relations with him should take their own decisions.

Speaking about conduct in public life, Yadav said that his family members always followed it.

The decision by the RJD chief came after a video and photograph of Tej Pratap Yadav with a woman, Anushka Yadav, went viral on social media on Saturday in which it was claimed that he has been in a relationship with the woman for 12 years.

However, later Tej Pratap pleaded that his social media account was hacked.

Tej Pratap Yadav got married to Aishwarya Rai, grand daughter of former CM Daroga Rai, in May 2018. The divorce case between the two is going on in the court.

Meanwhile, the Leader of Opposition in Bihar assembly Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, trying to avoid queries on the matter, said it was all the personal decisions of his elder brother.

Tejaswi Yadav firmly stated that he does not tolerate such matters and his party is working hard for the people of Bihar.

"Political life and personal life are different and he has the right to make his personal decisions," Yadav maintained.

He further said that the RJD chief has already taken a decision and has made his feelings clear on this issue.
