Rs. 54 crore spent on roads and bridges in Shahpur: MLA Kewal Singh Pathania

Shahpur, ( Kàngra), July 3 (UNI) Deputy Chief Whip and local MLA Kewal Singh Pathania inspected the under-construction Block Development Office (BDO) building at Rait today and announced that around Rs 54 crore is being spent on the construction of roads and bridges in the Shahpur Assembly constituency.
He informed that the new BDO building in Rait, being built at a cost of Rs 5.5 crore, will be completed within a year in mission mode and dedicated to the public. The construction, which began recently, has already achieved 25 percent completion. He praised the Rural Development Department for maintaining speed and quality in the ongoing work.
MLA Pathania highlighted that the BDO office, operational since 1952, lacked its own land and was functioning in a dilapidated structure. He criticised past representatives for neglecting this crucial office and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for providing the necessary budget.
Responding to criticisms that development is lacking in Shahpur, Pathania said that multiple projects are progressing swiftly. These include the nearly completed new Civil Hospital building in Shahpur costing ₹11 crore, a Rs 1.5 crore CHC building in Lunj, and a new building for the Veterinary Hospital, which has been operating from an old structure for 31 years.
He assured that several more development projects are in the pipeline and will soon be implemented. “If there is a strong will to do something, nothing is impossible,” he reiterated. UNI AR NST SSP
