Russian prosecutors say label Amnesty International undesirable in country

Moscow, May 19 (UNI) The Russian Prosecutor General's Office said on Monday that it had recognized the activities of the international non-governmental organization Amnesty International as undesirable in the country.
"The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia has declared the activities of international non-governmental organization Amnesty International Limited, registered in London, as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation," the statement said.
The organization positions itself as an active advocate for the protection of human rights in the world, but, in fact, its London headquarters is a training center for global Russophobic projects paid for by supporters of Kiev, the statement said.
The organization's members support extremist organizations and finance the activities of foreign agents, the release added.
