Security Forces launch search ops in Rajouri, Kishtwar, Poonch districts

Jammu, June 24 (UNI) Security forces today launched search operations in Rajouri, Kishtwar and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that acting on specific inputs on suspicious movement along the Line of Control in Keri area of Rajouri, Army along with police launched a massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO).

They added that a brief exchange of fire was reported between the search party and the suspects, adding, “the area has been cordoned and searches are underway.”

Meanwhile, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir also launched a search operation in the Marwan area of Kishtwar.

“There were inputs about the movement of suspects following which the searches were carried out in the remote belts of Marwan,” they added.

They stated that nothing has been found so far but the police personnel are on alert in the area.

Similarly, searches were also launched by the joint teams of Army, Police and Paramilitary forces in border belts of the Poonch district on information about movement of suspects.
