Bengaluru, May 8 (UNI) Amid the ongoing Operation Sindoor, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said that elaborate security arrangements have been made across the state, particularly around dams, and confirmed that deportation proceedings against Pakistani nationals are underway, with most already repatriated and a few cases currently pending before the courts.
Addressing reporters in Mandya, the Chief Minister said, "We have heightened security around key infrastructure, including dams, and are taking all precautionary measures. The Centre has issued directions for civil defence mock drills, which are being conducted accordingly."
He also responded to the BJP’s demand for deportation of Pakistani nationals residing in the state, stating, "Most of them have already been deported. However, a few individuals have approached the court, and due process is being followed."
In Bengaluru, state Home Minister Dr G Parmeshwara elaborated on the security measures, saying, "Special police forces from Raichur, Kaiga, and KRS Industries, all of whom have received commando training, have been deployed. Adequate personnel are present across departments, and if further recruitment is made, a year-long training regimen will be implemented."
On the Centre-mandated mock drills, he added, "Yesterday's mock drill was a success. We were directed by the Central government to conduct these in three districts. Mysuru was additionally selected by the state to strengthen preparedness." UNI BDN SSP
