Seethakka to lead large Congress contingent from Mulugu to Delhi protest against 'Vote Theft'

Mulugu, Oct 30 (UNI) A large number of Congress leaders and workers from Mulugu district will participate in the protest against alleged 'vote theft' at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on November 1, following a call by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, State Minister Dhanasari Anasuya (Seethakka) said on Friday.
Speaking to the media in Mulugu, Seethakka said Congress cadres from Telangana were travelling to Delhi by buses, trains and flights to take part in the nationwide protest aimed at safeguarding democracy and protecting citizens' voting rights.
She demanded a transparent electoral process, a thorough investigation into allegations of vote theft and strict legal action against those found responsible. She also stressed that every eligible voter must be allowed to exercise their franchise freely without interference.
Questioning the alleged protection being extended to officials involved in electoral matters, she urged the Centre to clarify concerns over post-retirement benefits for such officials. She said the Congress would continue its struggle to uphold constitutional values and public confidence in the electoral system.
District Library Organisation Chairman Banoth Ravichander, Agricultural Market Committee Chairperson Rega Kalyani and other Congress leaders participated in the programme.
