Mumbai, May 22 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Thursday crashed over 700 pts at 80,845.45 in early trade on weak global cues.

The Nifty fell by 247 pts at 24,566.90.

With yesterday's gain over 400 pts, the BSE Sensex opened at 81,323.05 pts, down 273 pts. It was suddenly slumped 751 pts at 80,845.45, as selling was seen across the board.

The US Market, European market, even Asian Market was seen weak.

The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 81,323.24 pts and 80, 826.381 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered days high at 24,737.50 and low at 24,561.25 pts.

The Mid cap fell by 0.41 pc and Small cap by 0.06 pc.

In 30 scrips, 4 advanced while 26 declined.

The losers were Tech Mahindra by 2.17 pc to Rs 1563.45, Powergrid by 2.09 pc to Rs 289.95, HCL Technology by 2.03 pc to Rs 1618 and Nestle India Ltd by 1.71 pc to Rs 2351.05.

The gainers were Adani Ports by 1.41 pc to Rs 1403.95 and Tata Steel by 0.25 pc to Rs 162.
