Mumbai, May 8 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Thursday dropped 411.97 pts to settle at 80,334.81 as selling was seen across the board despite positive global cues.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) declined 140.60 pts at 24,273.80.
The Sensex opened in green at 80,912.34, rising 166 pts. It was registered days high at 80,927.99, up 181 pts .
Later, it is erasing early gains as investor sentiment turned cautious amid growing concerns over escalating India-Pakistan tensions, during the day it was tanked 759 pts at 79,987.61, days low, before closing at 80,334.81, sliding 411.97 pts from its previous close.
The Nifty registered days high at 24,447.25
and low at 24,150.20 pts.
All the stocks were in red. Realty was a major loser, declining 2.60 pc followed by Oil and Gas by 1.98 pc, Metal by 1.79 pc and Powergrid by 1.86 pc.
The Mid cap declined 1.90 pc and Small cap by 1.05 pc.
In 30 scrips, 4 advanced while 26 declined.
The losers were Eternal by 3.97 pc to Rs 227.50, M& M by 3.36 pc to Rs 3014.95, Bajaj Finance by 2.19 pc to Rs 8789.05 and Maruti Suzuki by 2.04 pc to Rs 12371.35.
The gainers were Axis Bank by 0.70 pc to Rs 1170, HCL Technology by 0.67 pc to Rs 1573.10, Kotak Bank by 0.33 pc to Rs 2102.30 and Titan by 0.05 pc to Rs 3341.95.
