Mumbai, May 23 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Friday spurted 802 pts at 81,753 till noon trade as buying was seen across the board despite weak global cues.
These gains are restricted following concern around foreign inflow, even disappointing fiscal outlook of the US too dampened the sentiments of investors.
The Nifty too gained 245 pts at 24,855.
Tumbling down over 600 pts on Thursday, the equity market bounced back following gains in stocks include FMCG, Technology and IT stocks.
Seeing scrips, ITC was on top, advancing more than 3 per cent. The scrip registered a net profit of Rs 19,562 crore for Q4 FY 25 on Thursday.
Excluding that, underlying profit inched up just 0.8% YoY to Rs 4,875 crore.
The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 19,807 crore which was enhanced by an extraordinary gain of ₹15,145 crore in Q4 due to the demerger of its hotels business into ITC Hotels Limited.
The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 81,905.17 pts and 80,897.00 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered the day's high at 24,909.05 and a low at 24,614.05 pts.
The Mid cap moved up 0.34 pc and small cap by 0.38bpc.
In 30 scrips, 28 advanced while 2 declined.
The gainers were Eternal by 3.01 pc to Rs 236.01, ITC by 3 pc to Rs 438.90, Powergrid by 2.41 pc to Rs 298 and Tech Mahindra by 2.19 pc to Rs 1601.20 and Infosys by 2.01 pc to Rs 1580.35.
Sun Pharma fell 2.89 pc.
