Mumbai, Apr 29 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Tuesday further advanced by 178 pts to open at 80,396.92 following gains in Capital Goods, Power and Realty stocks amid strong global cues.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 42 pts at 24,370.70 pts.
The BSE Sensex registered intraday high at 80,661.31 and an intraday low at 80,122.02, respectively.
The Nifty registered a day's high at 24,457.65 and a low at 24,290.75 pts.
The mid cap moved up 0.32 pc and the small cap by 0.29 pc.
In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined.
The gainers were Reliance Industries by 1.29 pc to Rs 1386.10, IndusInd Bank by 0.99 pc to Rs 838.70, Tech Mahindra by 0.97 pc to Rs 1476 and L&T by 0.97 pc to Rs 3362.
The losers were Sun Pharma by 1.40 pc to Rs 1815.95, Ultracemco by 1.35 pc to Rs 11945, Nestle India Ltd by 1.24 pc to Rs 2374.40 and Powergrid by 1.18 pc to Rs 305.
The US market, European market and Asian market were also seen as strong.
