Seva Jyoti Yatra marks 25 years of PM Modi’s public life in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday organised the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life, with party workers carrying torch-bearing kalash processions to different parliamentary constituencies from the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.
The programme, organised under the BJP’s nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, was flagged off by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, who handed over the torches to leaders representing the seven Lok Sabha constituencies in the national capital.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, Delhi in-charge Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, co-in-charge Darshana Jardosh, organisation general secretary Pawan Rana and several MPs and senior party leaders participated in the event.
The BJP said the yatra was aimed at taking the message of public service, good governance and nation-building to different sections of society while drawing inspiration from Modi’s political journey.
Party workers from organisational mandals across Delhi assembled at the stadium before the torches were handed over for onward journeys into the respective parliamentary constituencies. The processions were subsequently taken towards assembly segments falling under the seven Lok Sabha constituencies.
For Chandni Chowk, Gupta, MP Praveen Khandelwal, Vishnu Mittal and Richa Pandey Mishra received the torch from Nabin. In North-East Delhi, MP Manoj Tiwari, Minister Kapil Mishra and Brijesh Rai were among those who took charge of the yatra.
Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra led the procession for East Delhi, while the New Delhi constituency was represented by Sahasrabuddhe, MP Bansuri Swaraj and other party leaders.
For North-West Delhi, MP Yogendra Chandolia and other leaders received the torch, while Delhi minister Ashish Sood and Manoj Kumar led the procession for West Delhi.
In South Delhi, MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and other senior BJP functionaries received the torch and proceeded towards the constituency’s assembly segments.
The BJP said the programme also sought to connect rural and urban communities through the ‘Kalash Yatras’ and carry the message of service and nation-building to the grassroots.
During the event, Gupta, along with Malhotra, Sahasrabuddhe, Jardosh, MPs and party workers, took a pledge centred on the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’, committing themselves to public service, good governance and nation-building.
The Delhi BJP said the initiative was intended not merely as a commemoration of Modi’s 25 years in public life but also as a reaffirmation of the party’s organisational slogan ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’.
According to the party, workers were encouraged to draw inspiration from Modi’s public life and work towards ensuring that the benefits of development and welfare reach the last person in society.
The BJP also linked the campaign to the broader national goal of achieving a developed and self-reliant India by 2047, saying that the ‘Seva Jyoti’ symbolised a continued commitment to public welfare and nation-building.
The event was attended by several Delhi government ministers, state office-bearers, district-level functionaries, morcha leaders, public representatives and party workers.
