Shivraj Chouhan to address Kissan Samelan at R.S Pura on Friday

Jammu, May 29 (UNI) BJP National Secretary and MLA from R.S. Pura (Jammu South Constituency), Dr. Narinder Singh on Thursday said that Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be addressing a Kissan Samelan here at R S Pura Friday..
Chairing a meeting, Dr Singh said that the Union Minister is scheduled to interact directly with farmers and individuals engaged in agricultural activities during the event.
This will be the first time a national-level agricultural event of this magnitude is being hosted in the R S Pura region, highlighting its growing importance on the national stage, he said.
Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat, MLA from Suchetgarh Assembly Constituency, and other senior leaders of the BJP were also present on the occasion, expressing their support for the initiative and commitment to the welfare of farmers in the region.
The event is being organised in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), the Agriculture Department of Jammu & Kashmir, and the Central Agricultural Department. Dr. Singh emphasized that a range of government schemes focused on farmers’ welfare and agricultural innovation will be introduced and explained to the audience by the Union Minister himself.
Known for his deep-rooted association with farming, Chouhan is expected to connect closely with the local farmer community, Dr. Singh said and shared that the Minister insists on holding an open-format programme to facilitate easy and meaningful dialogue between officials and farmers.
In addition to the Kissan Samelan, Dr. Singh mentioned that arrangements will also be made for the Union Minister to meet families affected by cross-border shelling, to express solidarity and support from the Central Government.
Dr. Narinder Singh urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure the event is successful and impactful, contributing towards strengthening the agricultural sector and empowering the farming community in the border belt.
Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat laid stress on the role of this programme for creating the atmosphere for the much needed expansion of the already existing methods and added that this will boost the technology and infrastructure development. UNI VBH SSP
