Son arrested with friend for allegedly killing mother's lover in Yamunanagar

Yamunanagar, Oct 24 (UNI) Yamunanagar Police have arrested two men for allegedly murdering a man over his suspected relationship with the mother of one of the accused, officials said on Saturday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajat Gulia said the accused, identified as Pradeep Kumar and his friend Kiran Pal, both residents of Nangawa Jagir village, were arrested near the Yamuna river in the Mandoli village area by a Crime Branch-1 team.
The victim, Shiv Kumar alias Shibu, a resident of Budia village, was found dead in agricultural fields at Nangawa Jagir on October 17, with multiple severe injuries to his head and body.
Police had initially registered a missing-person case at Budia police station, and subsequently added murder charges following the recovery of the body.
Gulia said preliminary interrogation revealed that Pradeep Kumar allegedly planned the murder because he objected to Shiv Kumar's relationship with his mother, Sunita.
According to police, Pradeep claimed he had repeatedly warned Shiv Kumar to end the relationship, but the latter allegedly refused. Pradeep then conspired with his friend Kiran Pal to kill him, police said.
The arrests were made by a Crime Branch-1 team led by SI Raj Kumar following directions from Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal.
Both accused have been produced before a court and remanded to police custody for further interrogation.
Gulia said investigators were examining all aspects of the killing, including the sequence of events and the roles played by both accused.
