Sports Authority of Telangana honoured by AIFF for promoting Football

Hyderabad, May 3 (UNI) The Sports Authority of Telangana was honoured by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for its exceptional contribution to promoting and supporting football in Hyderabad and Telangana during the year 2024–25.
The recognition was presented at the AIFF Annual Awards Day held on May 2, 2025, in Bhubaneswar, a statement here said on Saturday.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Government of Telangana, Ms Sonibala Devi, IFS, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG), expressed her gratitude to the AIFF. “This is not just an honour to Telangana football but a motivation for the entire sports fraternity in the state to continue building a strong sporting culture,” she said.
The event was graced by AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey and several dignitaries, including Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha; Suryabanshi Suraj, Minister for Higher Education, Sports and Youth Services, Odia Language Literature and Culture; Manoj Ahuja, Chief Secretary to the Government of Odisha; and Shri Bhaskar Sarma, Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha.
The award recognises Telangana’s proactive initiatives and sustained efforts in promoting football infrastructure, talent development, and youth engagement across the state.
