Chennai, June 12 (UNI) Lambasting the BJP-led Government at the Centre for
neglecting Tamil Nadu in all fronts for the last 11 years, Chief Minister and DMK
President M K Stalin took a dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his
criticisms against the ruling DMK and said Tamils have self-respect and would
not allow TN to be ruled from Delhi.
Speaking at an official function and launching various projects and distributing
welfare schemes to more than on lakh beneficiaries in Salem district, he hit out
at the Centre and categorically stated that Tamil Nadu will never be allowed to
be ruled from Delhi as Tamils have self respect.
Accusing the Centre of unable to digest the popularity of the DMK government
among the people for launching various welfare initiatives, he cited the criticisms
made by Mr Amit Shah during his recent visit to Madurai that the DMK government
had not done anything, not fulfilled its promises and making mere promises and
said he was compelled to respond to them.
Charging Mr Amit Shah with outpouring his anger against the DMK government
that it was taking credit for the schemes launched by the BJP-led government
at the centre and preventing them reaching the people, Mr Stalin said the truth,
however, was on the contrary.
Stoutly refuting Mr Amit Shah's criticisms, the Chief Minister said whether it
was drinking water projects or housing projects, it was the state government
which was implementing the schemes by providing additional funds as the
allocation made by the Centre was inadequate.
Even for the schemes with PM's name, it was being implemented with more
than 50 per cent allocation of funds by the State government, he said.
