Sydney Sweeney teases new update for ‘Euphoria’ Season 3

Los Angeles, May 25 (UNI) Sydney Sweeney has teased a wild return for her character Cassie in the long-awaited third season of HBO’s ‘Euphoria’, promising fans an even more chaotic version of the already turbulent teen.
Speaking to Empire magazine while promoting her new Apple TV+ thriller ‘Echo Valley’, in which she stars opposite Julianne Moore, Sweeney reflected on her deep connection to the role.
“I have such a spot in my heart for Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear,” she said. “She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She’s flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. It could be a sad version of love, as well,” reported Deadline.
Sweeney went on to describe the upcoming season as “unhinged”, revealing that she and series creator Sam Levinson constantly push boundaries together.
“I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, ‘Let’s go crazier.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m all in,’” she said. When asked whether the show will be “more unhinged” than previous seasons, she simply laughed and confirmed, “Yes.”
Produced by A24, ‘Euphoria’ gained a reputation for its bold, often shocking storytelling in Season 2, which climaxed with Cassie’s affair with Nate (Jacob Elordi) exploding into chaos.
Season 3, currently filming in Los Angeles, features a five-year time jump, taking its characters beyond high school. New cast members include Sharon Stone, Rosalía, and Marshawn Lynch, with Zendaya, Elordi, Alexa Demie, and Sweeney all returning.
Outside the series, Sweeney is keeping busy with an upcoming Christy Martin biopic, Paul Feig’s ‘The Housemaid’, and the self-produced ‘Scandalous!’, directed by Colman Domingo. She’ll also appear in ‘Americana’, out in August 2025.
