T'gana: Air Chief Marshal AP Singh flies sortie with NCC Air Wing Cadet

Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal AP Singh undertook a flying sortie with Senior Wing NCC Air Wing Cadet Jakkula Tejasvi Reddy at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, on October 20.
The sortie took place ahead of the Air Chief’s final flying sortie with his first flying instructor. Before the flight, Cadet Tejasvi underwent cockpit familiarisation, safety briefings, ejection-procedure familiarisation and medical checks. Air Chief Marshal Singh briefed her on the Kiran aircraft’s specifications, engine functioning, cockpit procedures and safety systems.
During the sortie, he explained various flight manoeuvres, flight angles and steep turns, and allowed the cadet to practise manoeuvres under his guidance.
The experience provided Cadet Tejasvi with practical exposure to aviation and encouragement to pursue her ambition of becoming an aviator. It also highlighted opportunities for NCC Air Wing cadets to explore aviation and careers in the Defence Forces.
The NCC continues to strengthen its training programmes to develop skills, confidence and leadership among young people, in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and the goal of encouraging youth participation in nation-building, a Defence statement said today.
