Technopark-based Lifology holds edu conclave on Helsinki Day

Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 12 (UNI) Technopark-based career management startup Lifology conducted a virtual education conclave today, exploring Finland’s renowned education model as part of Helsinki Day celebrations, marking 475 years since the founding of Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
Lifology organized the event in association with Finland 2030 Education Initiatives, a joint initiative of Finnish higher education institutions.
Erik af Hällström, Consul General of Finland, and Dr. Liisa Toivonen, Counsellor for Science and Education Policy at the Embassy of Finland, attended the online event.
It also brought together over 200 Principals, educators, policymakers, and global thought leaders who emphasised international cooperation in education. The event explored Finland’s famed education model and the possibilities of building inclusive, equitable, and future-ready education systems through global collaboration.
Speaking on the occasion, Hällström said, “India and Finland established diplomatic relations in 1949and the relationship has remained stronger ever since. “I’m happy to see the vibrant collaboration between the University of Helsinki and Lifology. The initiative they’ve started holds great promise and will hopefully reach new heights,” he said.
Dr. Toivonen said India’s National Education Policy 2020 closely reflects Finland’s core educational values, such as equity, learner well-being, and student-centered learning.
Praveen Parameswar, CEO of Lifology, highlighted the long-term vision behind the initiative: “We firmly believe India and Finland have many areas of potential collaboration in education and beyond. We are proud to have initiated this meaningful partnership,” he noted.
Panel discussions on ‘Beyond Borders: Discovering Shared Educational Values and Opportunities between India and Finland’ and ‘Awaiting Helsinki: Hopes, Expectations, and Curiosities’ were also held.
The panelists included Dr. Snehal Pinto, Director of Ryan Group of Institutions; Meike Krautscheid, Director of Finland 2030; Unnikrishnan Kurup, MD and Co-founder of VentureVillage; Ms. Rupa Chakravarty, Director, Suncity Schools, Gurgaon; Dr. Howard Gee, Principal, DSB International School, Mumbai; Ajith Jacob, Resident Principal, Doon International School Riverside Campus, Dehradun; Rev. Fr. Melwyn Anil Lobo, SJ, Principal, St. Joseph’s School, Bangalore; and M. S. Faizal Khan, MD, Noorul Islam Institute of Medical Science and Research Foundation (NIMS).
Principals and education leaders from across the country shared their insights into adapting Finnish best practices in Indian contexts, fostering innovation, and enhancing cross-cultural learning.
The event introduced the vision behind Finland 2030—an ambitious, research-driven educational initiative rooted in neuroscience, sustainability, and lifelong learning. Developed with Finland’s leading educators and institutions, the initiative aims to prepare students for a rapidly evolving global landscape.
