Telangana achieves milestone: Rs 8,284 cr Rythu Bharosa funds deposited in record time

Hyderabad, June 23 (UNI) In a major boost to farmers, Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao announced on Monday that Rs 8,284.66 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme has been successfully deposited into the accounts of 67.01 lakh farmers across the state.
He stated that the process of crediting Rythu Bharosa funds for all cultivated lands, irrespective of acreage, will be completed by tomorrow.
Speaking to the media at Secretariat here, the Minister said the entire fund disbursement for the monsoon season has been completed in just nine days, fulfilling the promise made by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
The phased rollout of the funds began on June 16, with Rs 2,349.83 crore released on day one for up to two acres, gradually increasing to Rs 8,284.66 crore by the seventh day for land up to 15 acres.
“This is the first time in the state’s history that such large-scale financial support to farmers has been executed within a short span,” the Minister said.
He lauded CM Revanth Reddy’s unwavering commitment to farmers despite the state’s challenging financial situation, calling it a historic achievement.
Minister Tummala recalled that in previous years, such assistance took two to four months to reach farmers.
“Now, thanks to Revanth Reddy’s leadership, farmers received timely assistance for crop investment during the rainy season,” he said.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfil all its promises, reminding that the farmer loan waiver would be completed by August 15 and that a unique Rs 500 bonus on the support price for the poor has already benefited over two lakh farmers.
He assured that all crops would be procured by the government through Markfed, regardless of central procurement.
Calling Telangana the true embodiment of “Indiramma Rajyam”, the Minister said this government stands by the farmers in both spirit and action.
“Over Rs one lakh crore has already been spent on farmer welfare, but those in the opposition, unable to digest this, are engaging in baseless criticism,” he remarked.
He urged the opposition to support pro-farmer initiatives instead of opposing them with political motives.
“The welfare of farmers remains our top priority, and we are united in that mission under the leadership of CM Revanth Reddy,” he added.
To mark the successful completion of the Rythu Bharosa disbursement, a special "Rythu Pandaga" (farmers festival) event will be held at 6 pm near the statue of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, opposite the Secretariat on Tuesday.
The Minister invited public representatives and farmers from across the state to participate in large numbers in their respective areas to celebrate the occasion.
