Telangana CM highlights state's rapid investment growth, job creation at Sonata software facility inauguration

Hyderabad, May 12 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy stated that the state has attracted investments worth approximately Rs 3 lakh crore and generated over one lakh jobs since the Congress government assumed power in December 2023.

Speaking at the inauguration of Sonata Software’s new facility at Vamsiram Suvarna Durga Tech Park in Hyderabad’s financial district, Nanakramguda, on Monday, the Chief Minister said, “I am happy to be here to meet and interact with the team at Sonata. I understand Sonata Software is a leading company leveraging cutting-edge AI to design intelligent ecosystems of the future for its clients.”

Highlighting the synergy between Sonata’s innovation and the government’s vision, he noted, “There is a lot in common between your outlook and what our government is striving to achieve for our citizens. We are focused on modernization and future-ready development.”

Sharing details of the government's recent efforts, he said, “To support our stakeholders—farmers, women, youth, students, and senior citizens—we are also enabling industry growth and boosting the economy.”

The Chief Minister revealed that the state has attracted nearly Rs 3 lakh crore in investments and created more than one lakh jobs in the private sector since December. “Following my participation at the World Economic Forum in Davos and investor meets in the U.S., South Korea, Japan, and Singapore, Telangana has emerged as a preferred destination for global investors. In fact, at Davos alone, we secured investment commitments worth Rs 1.78 lakh crore,” he said.

He emphasised that Telangana is currently ranked number one in India for attracting both domestic and international investments. “Hyderabad is now a hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), particularly in software and life sciences. The city is emerging as a leading centre for AI, data centres, life sciences, and manufacturing.”

The Chief Minister mentioned that major IT firms like Microsoft, Cognizant, HCL Tech, Infosys, and Wipro are expanding their operations in Hyderabad. “According to Government of India reports, we are number one in policing and law and order, inflation management, job creation (in both public and private sectors), and state tax collections.”

He also spoke about Telangana’s inclusive development programs: “We are running India’s largest entrepreneurship funding and mentoring program, empowering 66 lakh individuals through self-help groups. We are also supporting lakhs of entrepreneurs across sectors.”

Revanth Reddy highlighted progressive initiatives such as integrating transgender individuals into Hyderabad’s traffic police force and building major infrastructure projects. “We are constructing a dry port with dedicated road and rail connectivity to Andhra Pradesh’s seaport and developing Bharat Field, India’s most well-planned city within Hyderabad.”

He announced plans to establish the Indian Space University and promote Hyderabad as a host for global events. “The Miss World contest is being held in Hyderabad, and we will ensure more international events come here.”

The Chief Minister said, “This balanced growth—investments, job creation, infrastructure, and welfare—is our vision for a rising Telangana. To achieve a USD 1 trillion economy and transform Hyderabad into one of the world’s most remarkable cities, I seek your support. Let’s work together and become brand ambassadors for Hyderabad.”
