Telangana delegation visits Asian Games venue in Japan

Tokyo/Hyderabad, Oct 2 (UNI) A Telangana government delegation led by Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari visited the Asian Games venue in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Friday as part of a two-day tour to observe sporting events and gain insights into international-level sports management.
The delegation, comprising Government Representative A P Jitender Reddy, former Sports Authority chairman Shivasena Reddy and VC & MD Sony Baladevi, watched various competitions and interacted with the sporting environment.
Minister Srihari, A P Jitender Reddy and Telangana Sepak Takraw Association president Perika Suresh congratulated the Indian team after it won a bronze medal in Sepak Takraw.
The delegation cheered the Indian athletes with slogans including “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Jai Bhim” and lauded their hard work and determination.
Srihari said the State government was committed to strengthening sports infrastructure, improving training facilities and encouraging talented athletes from Telangana to compete successfully at international events.
The delegation said its firsthand exposure to international sporting competitions, athlete performances and event management would provide valuable inputs for further developing the sports sector in Telangana.
