Telangana Govt plans Rs 84,790 cr investment for Hyderabad’s development: Dy CM Bhatti

Hyderabad, Oct 30 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has announced that the Telangana government has drawn up plans to invest Rs 84,790 crore in the development of Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, with projects worth Rs55,000 crore already designed, tendered or under execution.
Speaking after inaugurating the 16th edition of the NAREDCO Telangana Property Show 2026 at HITEX Exhibition Centre on Friday, he described real estate developers as wealth creators and said the government would consider their suggestions to promote the State’s growth.
He said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was personally overseeing urban development initiatives, including the Regional Ring Road (RRR), Musi River rejuvenation and Bharat Future City. The first phase of the Musi project, involving works worth around RS 7,500 crore, would begin soon. Sewage treatment plants were also sanctioned for 21 major drains flowing into the Musi to prevent untreated wastewater from entering the river.
Bhatti Vikramarka said projects worth Rs 15,849 crore had been sanctioned for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Rs 4,000 crore for GHMC, RS 2,500 crore for Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation and Rs 2,163 crore for Cyberabad Municipal Corporation. Another RS 500 crore was being spent on road infrastructure through HRDCL. The total allocation for HMDA, the Hyderabad Growth Corridor and Hyderabad Metro Rail stood at Rs 52,736 crore.
He said Bharat Future City was being developed across 30,000 acres, with nearly 15,000 acres earmarked for green spaces. The government was also implementing the HILT policy to reduce pollution by shifting industries outside the ORR and promoting electric buses and vehicles.
Stating that development and welfare were being pursued simultaneously, he said Rs 93,000 crore had been earmarked for rural road infrastructure and Rs 18,000 crore had been transferred to 71 lakh farmers under Rythu Bharosa.
Responding to developers' concerns, he invited NAREDCO representatives to submit suggestions on revenue mobilisation, construction costs and affordable housing. He urged developers to focus on genuinely affordable homes for poor and middle-class families. He also highlighted the establishment of a Skills University in Future City and the transformation of 65 ITIs into Advanced Technology Centres to provide industry-oriented training, including construction skills.
Earlier, NAREDCO Telangana President K Sreedhar Reddy sought changes in electricity tariff classification for construction projects, single-window clearances for captive power plants, reduction in GST on construction materials and a review of increased seigniorage charges. He also sought relief on GST input tax credit for commercial real estate projects.
State Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, Government Whip Bhanu Prasad and other dignitaries participated in the programme.
