Tension grips Indo-Bangla border; BSF fires warning shots

Guwahati, May 27 (UNI) Tension gripped the Mankachar sector of the Indo-Bangladesh border on Tuesday morning after the BSF personnel reportedly tried to push back 14 Bangladeshi nationals who had entered the Indian side illegally.
The incident took place at Thakuranbari area along the international border when the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) opposed the handover process of the 14 Bangladeshi nationals. The BSF had to fire in the air to disperse a crowd that gathered on the other side of the border.
South Salmara district commissioner Rahul Kumar Gupta confirmed the incident and said that the administration was looking into the incident.
