Three die as mound of soil caves in  Gonda

Gonda (UP), May 22 (UNI) Three persons were killed and one was injured when soil suddenly caved in while digging a mazar with a machine in the Chapiya area of Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Thursday.

Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal said that the foundation of the Masoom-e-Millat mazar was being dug on Wednesday night in Pipra Mahim village when suddenly a large portion of soil collapsed while digging with the JCB machine on both sides of the mazar.

He said that Shakeel Mohammad (50), Ashad (14), and Fakir Mohammad (20) died after being buried under the debris, while another was injured. "The injured has been admitted to the hospital for treatment," he said.
