TIPRA Motha remains undecided on participation in Tripura Urban Bodies' poll

Agartala, Oct 28 (UNI) TIPRA Motha, the ruling BJP's coalition partner in Tripura, has yet to finalize its stance on whether to contest the forthcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections slated for the following month.
Following a meeting held on Wednesday, Brishaketu Debbarma, TIPRA Motha's leader and minister of state in Dr Manik Saha's administration, stated that the party's senior leadership is presently concentrating on delivering on pledges from the Central government and executing the tripartite accord established for tribal advancement.
He suggested that deliberations among the party's senior officials are underway regarding unfulfilled guarantees, prospective political direction, and capacity development for elected representatives.
Debbarma highlighted that the gathering also sought to determine methods for guaranteeing the realization of the rights and benefits that the party has pursued. He noted that leadership consultations are examining the schedule for honouring Central commitments, in addition to the measures the party must undertake ahead.
Although the municipal body elections were discussed, the party has not announced its participation decision. Debbarma clarified that the leadership will finalize comprehensive deliberations, noting that the election calendar has not been made public.
According to his remarks, a conclusive determination cannot be reached presently as the elections remain unscheduled. He stated that once the elections are formally announced, the party would disclose its approach, though currently Motha is evaluating its structural concerns alongside the status of Central government commitments.
