UP: Akash Anand apologises to Mayawati, says he's not leaving BSP

Lucknow, Oct 2 (UNI) After being expelled from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Akash Anand, nephew of Party supremo Mayawati, broke his silence on Friday via social media.
Calling BSP chief Mayawati his political guru, inspiration, and "aunt," he apologised to her and stated that he was not joining any other political party.
Akash Anand stated that various news and rumours have been circulating about him in the media and social media for the past few days.
He clarified, "I am not joining any other political party. Not today, nor ever. The BSP is not just a party for me; it is my family."
He said that everything he learned and did in politics was done under Mayawati's guidance. Therefore, he wanted to present his views directly to her and the entire Bahujan Samaj.
Akash Anand justified Mayawati's decision to expel his father-in-law and former BSP leader Ashok Siddharth from the party and his decision to retire from politics.
He said, "I stand by that decision. Relationships are one thing, but the mission is bigger than that. It is my responsibility to put the interests of the party and the movement above personal and family interests."
He also mentioned his distance from social media. Akash said that at that time, he had distanced himself from social media, so he was unable to share Mayawati's post. His silence was misunderstood and gave rise to rumours.
He said that if his silence had hurt Mayawati, he apologises to her.
Aakash Anand said that he only wants the opportunity to serve the party and the mission again under Mayawati's leadership. He said that trust is built not just by words, but by work, conduct, and hard work, and he will prove it through his actions.
He concluded his message by saying, "Baba Saheb's mission, Manawayar Saheb's path, and your leadership. This is my politics."
It is noteworthy that in September, Mayawati announced the complete separation of Akash Anand from the BSP. Earlier, his father-in-law, Ashok Siddhartha, had announced his retirement from politics.
In Akash Anand's latest statement, he dismissed speculation about leaving the party and expressed his desire to serve the BSP again under Mayawati's leadership.
