UP Finance Minister launches massive cleanliness drive on PM's birthday

Lucknow, Sep 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna on Thursday launched a massive cleanliness drive organized by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday.
The Finance Minister personally cleaned and washed the statues of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and warrior Avantibai, and the platforms surrounding them, installed in Hazratganj. After this, he paid his respects to the great men by offering flowers at their statues.
Launching the cleanliness drive, Khanna appealed to citizens for their active participation. He stated that cleanliness is not solely the responsibility of the government or the Municipal Corporation, but rather the moral and social responsibility of every citizen. People should join this campaign and advance it, creating a clean and beautiful environment around their homes, neighborhoods, markets, and public places. Only through public participation can the cleanliness drive be transformed into an effective mass movement, he said.
The Finance Minister extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to PM Modi, on his birthday. He prayed for the Prime Minister's good health and long life and expressed his hope that PM Modi may continue to guide the country and society with his visionary leadership.
Mr. Khanna stated that since entering public life, Prime Minister Modi has set numerous records in the fields of service, dedication, good governance, and national interest. The mark of his extraordinary hard work, strong will, and unwavering commitment to the nation is visible throughout the world today.
He said that under the strong leadership of the Prime Minister, India has achieved remarkable achievements on both internal and external fronts. Instead of avoiding the challenges facing the country, the Prime Minister faced them firmly and provided far-reaching and effective solutions. Under his leadership, India's prestige, strength, and acceptance on the global stage have increased unprecedentedly.

Mehbooba slams BJP over IPS officer Bushra Bano transfer, says ‘even our vocabulary and votes are being policed’

Srinagar, Sept 17 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday criticised the BJP over the transfer of West Bengal IPS officer Bushra Bano, alleging that the party was now “policing the vocabulary of Muslims.”
Mehbooba said the move, which came after the IPS officer used expressions including “Assalamu Alaikum”, “InshaAllah” and “JazakAllah” in a video, did not surprise the Muslim community anymore.
