Mahoba (UP), June 21 (UNI) Two persons were killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a van loaded with explosives and a truck in the Srinagar area of Mahoba district here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, a police officer said.
Additional Superintendent of Police Vandana Singh said that during the accident that took place between Sijhari and Bara on the Kanpur-Sagar National Highway, the explosive van going to Prakash Bamhori of Chhatarpur district in Madhya Pradesh collided with a DCM truck coming from the front.
"The collision was so severe that the front part of both the vehicles was badly crushed. Due to which their drivers died on the spot after getting stuck in the cabin. While three people, including the two cleaners riding in them, were seriously injured," she said.
She said that on receiving the information, the PRV team immediately reached the spot and got the injured admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
"The driver of the explosive van who died in the accident has been identified as Tej Kumar Prajapati (35), a resident of Ghathari. Efforts are being made to identify the driver of the DCM," she said.
